RACE TIMING, REBUILT
All the timing.
None of the truck.
Race Technologies replaces mats, cables and the timing trailer with lightweight wearable tags and self-configuring gates the size of a lunchbox. Results are live before your runners catch their breath.
- 15 mintypical course setup
- Liveresults & gun clock
- Every readkept, graded & reviewable
HOW IT WORKS
Three pieces. No expertise required.
Runners wear a tag
A featherweight active tag on the wrist or ankle — no bib positioning rules, no foam mats to trip on. Check-in is a quick scan at the kiosk and the tag is theirs.
You place the gates
Each timing point is one battery-powered box. Set it beside the line, switch it on, and it finds the network and configures itself. Start, splits, finish — same box everywhere.
Results happen
Crossings stream to the cloud the moment they happen. Gun time, chip time, splits and standings update live — on the big screen, on the website, on your phone.
FROM SIGN-UP TO START LINE
Registration flows in. Runners flow through.
Race Roster, connected
Your roster syncs in real time — entries, transfers and race-morning signups appear in the timing system as they happen. No CSV exports, no re-keying, no "is this list current?" at 6 a.m.
Check-in that runs itself
The runner shows the QR code from their confirmation at the kiosk — one scan links them to the race and hands them their tag, already tied to their bib and name. Seconds per athlete, no lookup table, no line.
WHY DIRECTORS SWITCH
Built for the person running the race,
not the person running the software.
Minutes to set up
No mats, no loops of cable, no generator. A volunteer can deploy a timing point: place the box, flip the switch, watch the light turn green.
Every read is graded
Each crossing is computed four independent ways. When they agree, you get a confident time. When they don't, the crossing is flagged — not silently wrong.
Review, don't re-time
Flagged results open a visual review: see the actual radio signal of the crossing and confirm or correct it in one click. Protests get answers, not shrugs.
Nothing is ever lost
Gates keep every raw radio sample. Long after race day you can re-examine any finish — the data to settle a dispute is always there.
Works where races happen
Trail junction with no cell service? Gates keep timing on their own and sync when the connection returns. No signal, no problem — no missing splits.
Start line included
Gun button, start-line clock and finish clock are part of the system. Fire the gun and every clock and every result follows — automatically.
RACE DAY
Your morning, with us on the clock.
- T-60 min
Boxes out. Place a gate at the start/finish and at each split. Flip the switches. Dashboard shows every gate green.
- T-45 min
Check-in. Runners scan their QR code at the kiosk and walk away with a tag already linked to their bib. Race-morning signups sync straight from Race Roster.
- T-0
The gun. One press starts the race clock everywhere — start arch, finish clock, results page.
- +41 min
First finisher. Their time is on the leaderboard before they stop running. Announcer reads it off a phone.
- +2 hrs
Awards, no anxiety. Anything the system wasn't sure about is already flagged and reviewed. Podium stands on solid numbers.
QUESTIONS DIRECTORS ASK
Straight answers.
How accurate is it?
Finish-line gates use paired receivers for sub-second precision, and every crossing carries a confidence grade so you know exactly which times to trust — and which few to double-check.
What does a runner wear?
A small, reusable tag in a soft band — wrist or ankle. It wakes up near a timing point and sleeps the rest of the time, so a battery lasts entire seasons.
What if the internet dies mid-race?
Gates time independently and store everything locally. When connectivity returns, results catch up on their own. The race never depends on the Wi-Fi.
Trail, road, track, loops?
Point-to-point, out-and-back and multi-lap formats are built in — with lap guardrails so a runner lingering near the line never becomes a phantom lap.
